New features

A fair amount of PPC work happens outside campaign settings.

You need to understand what is firing in Tag Manager, confirm what Google Ads is optimizing toward, import the right GA4 events, and occasionally undo an overenthusiastic negative keyword decision.

HireOtto now supports more of that workflow:

  • inspect Google Tag Manager containers and export tag wiring

  • create native Google Ads conversion actions

  • import eligible GA4 events into Google Ads

  • remove keywords from shared negative keyword lists

In other words: more of the important plumbing, with fewer trips through three different interfaces.

At a glance

Inspect Google Tag Manager

HireOtto now has a separate Google Tag Manager MCP server.

You can use it to:

  • list GTM accounts, containers, and workspaces

  • inspect tags, triggers, variables, built-in variables, and folders

  • review which triggers are connected to each tag

  • export the complete tag-wiring view to CSV

This first version is read-only. It is designed for inventory, audits, and understanding an existing setup – not creating or publishing container changes yet.

Example prompt:

Review the [WORKSPACE_NAME] workspace in container [CONTAINER_NAME].

Export the tag-to-trigger wiring to CSV, then flag:
- tags without firing triggers
- triggers not connected to any tags
- tags that appear to be duplicated

Add the GTM server to your AI assistant using:

Create native Google Ads conversion actions

You can now create new conversion actions in Google Ads instead of only updating existing ones.

This includes settings such as:

  • conversion name and category

  • primary or secondary optimization status

  • counting method

  • default value

  • attribution model

  • conversion windows

  • enabled or paused status

Example prompt:

Create a website conversion action called “Demo request” in account [CUSTOMER_ID].

Categorize it as a submitted lead form, count one conversion per ad interaction, make it primary for optimization, and use a default value of $100.

Creating the conversion action handles the Google Ads side. The corresponding website or GTM tag still needs to be installed and tested before it can record conversions.

Review and import GA4 events

HireOtto can now review the relationship between Google Ads and GA4 before making changes.

You can ask it to show:

  • whether conversion tracking and auto-tagging are active

  • the detected linked GA4 property

  • GA4 events already imported into Google Ads

  • eligible events available to import

You can then import the selected GA4 event and configure how Google Ads should use it.

Example prompt:

Review the conversion tracking setup for account [CUSTOMER_ID].

Show me the linked GA4 property, existing imported conversions, and events available to import.

Then import “form_submit” as a secondary conversion, categorize it as a submitted lead form, and count one conversion per interaction.

Remove keywords from shared negative lists

Shared negative keyword lists are useful until a valid query gets added by mistake.

HireOtto could already list, create, populate, and assign these lists. You can now remove individual keywords from them too.

There are two ways to do it:

  1. List the negative keywords first, then remove selected entries using their exact resource names.

  2. Identify the keywords directly using their text and match type.

Example prompt:

Remove “social media” as broad match and “open source” as phrase match from the “Auth Services” negative keyword list.

Being specific about both the keyword and match type is helpful – especially when the same text appears in the list more than once.

Try this

Start with the measurement review

If you already have GTM and GA4 connected, try this sequence:
1. Export the current GTM tag wiring to CSV.
2. Review the Google Ads conversion tracking setup.
3. Compare the conversions in Google Ads with the relevant GA4 events and GTM tags.
4. Flag anything that looks missing, duplicated, or inconsistent.
5. Do not make changes yet—give me a review plan first.

This keeps the AI in reviewer mode before you authorize any Google Ads changes.

If the new actions do not appear in your AI assistant, refresh its tool list or reconnect the HireOtto server once.

If you try these workflows, reply and tell me which part of conversion tracking still feels unnecessarily painful. That is likely where I’ll go next.
